Begin by turning three medium bass wood canvas squares over so the flat portion becomes the back. Use a foam sponge brush to apply wood stain to the inner and outer frame portion of the wood canvas. Set aside to allow the stain to dry.

Next, tape the inner sides of the frames, and then apply a layer of white paint to the flat inner portion of each sign. You may need to apply a second coat to achieve a fully opaque finish.

Once the paint has fully dried, measure to find the center of the signs. Add four long strips of thin washi tape parallel to each other down the center to form three stripes. My center stripe is roughly 1/2" wide, with the stripes on either side being roughly 1/4" each.

Ensure the washi tape has been smoothed to the sign so that paint doesn't seep underneath. Paint over all three sections with red paint. You may need to apply a few coats to fully cover the white paint.

While the paint on the signs is drying, download and print the Joy Sign Template onto white cardstock. Cut out the letters then trace them onto black adhesive vinyl.

Once the paint on the signs has fully dried, add the letters "J" and "Y" to the center of two of the signs.

Next, form a wreath using boxwood wreath ribbon by winding the ribbon in a circle three times. Cut smaller pieces using wire cutters to tie the wreath together in a few spots.

Now add the newly formed wreath to the center of the remaining painted sign using hot glue to act as the letter "O" in joy.

Finally, hang your new joy sign trio to the wall using double sided foam tape, or stand up on a flat surface with your Christmas decor.
