Remove the backing and glass insert from a wooden frame. Paint the outer lip of the wood frame with white acrylic paint and the inner area of the frame with orange acrylic paint. I found it easiest to use a flat bristled paintbrush. Allow time for the paint to dry.
Apply a strip of black and white washi tape along the white outer lip of the frame using a craft knife to trim the corners. To add a bit of bling, draw a line along the edge of the washi tape with a metallic marker.
Choose a spooky saying for your sign. I choose the word ‘EEK.’ It’s short and sweet, plus that’s pretty much how I react when I see ANY spider! Spray paint the magnetic letters in the word of your choice with foil metallic gold spray paint.
While the spray paint is drying, cut a piece of creepy cloth big enough to be able to fit into the frame with some wiggle room. Flip the wooden frame over and lay the creepy cloth on top. Lay the glass insert back into the frame slightly pulling the creepy cloth taunt. Glue the glass into place using a fair amount of hot glue and cut off the excess cloth.
Arrange and glue plastic spiders and your spooky word onto the frame.
This sign looks great paired with our 3 Ceramic Pumpkins and Trick or Treat Pail. Add in some simple black candle holders and an empty frame for added interest and your Halloween mantle is ready for fright night.
