Paint the wooden spools with red acrylic paint and allow to dry.
Glue the end of the red baker’s twine to an unpainted wooden spool. Wrap the twine around the spool and glue the end to secure in place.
Thread the painted spools, wrapped spools, dark brown wooden beads, and unfinished wood beads onto a length of twine in the following order: one dark brown wooden bead, one painted spool, one unfinished wooden bead, one painted spool, one dark brown bead, one wrapped spool. Continue this pattern until all of the spools and beads have been used. You can also mix it up and make your own design.
Drape this garland on your tree, along your mantle, or nestle it in some evergreen and hang it along your staircase.
