Inflate a 36" white latex balloon using a personal helium tank. Tie with curling ribbon. I like to tie my balloon to the helium tank to hold it in place while I decorate the rest of it.

These unicorn party hats make the perfect horn for your unicorn. They come in a pack of 12, so you'll have extras for party guests to wear! To add a horn to the balloon, first cut the string from the party hat, and then add a thin bead of hot glue around the base of the horn. Make sure your hot glue is on "Low" setting and only use a small amount to avoid popping the balloon. Place the horn towards the top center of the balloon and hold in place for a few seconds until the glue is set.

Freehand cut ears for your unicorn out of sheets of white and pink paper and glue together. Create a tab on the bottom of the ears by folding a 1/4" of the base of the ear backwards. Add a thin bead of hot glue (on "Low" setting) to the tab and adhere to the balloon on each side of the horn.

Use black and pink Sharpie® markers to draw a face on the front of the unicorn.

If you want, you can add a tassel garland by tying it to the balloon string at the base of the balloon. I cut the tassel garland in half so there were just six tassels on my balloon. If the garland is too heavy, it will weigh the balloon down. With the garland, the balloon will stay afloat for about two hours before it starts to sink. Without the tassel garland, the balloon should stay afloat for 6-8 hours.
