Starting with the bottom corner of the wall area, place a strip of painters tape to the back of a Cobalt Blue Dinner Plate and place it on the wall. Painters tape will remove from your wall without damage or leaving a residue. To make sure you have an even horizontal line, place a table on the wall first, then start your first row right above the table. This will give you a straight line horizontally to place your first row of plates and you’ll have your backdrop even with the height of the table so your backdrop will hang right above it.

Once you have your starting point, place one more Cobalt Blue Dinner Plate right above the one you just placed on the wall and continue going up with two Turquoise Dinner Plates and two Light Blue Dinner Plates until you have a vertical row of six plates (2 of each color).

Continue across horizontally on the bottom row and place six more plates on the wall to create a bottom horizontal row of seven Cobalt Blue Dinner Plates. Make another row of Cobalt Blue Dinner Plates right above the one you just made.

Make two rows of Turquoise Dinner Plates right above the light blue plates.

Continue to make another two rows of Light Blue Dinner Plates above the turquoise plates. The finished product has an ombre look! You can adjust the number of horizontal and vertical rows you make depending on how big your wall is.

Cut the string off of each of the Tropical Fish and extend the honeycomb on only one side. Secure with the supplied adhesive strip. Use an extra piece of tape just to be sure the honeycomb stays in place. Continue for all six fish.

Turn it over and place a piece of painters tape or Foam Double-Sided Tape on the flat back side and place the tropical fish onto the rims of the plates on the wall.

Continue to place all six Tropical Fish to the rims of the plates in various places. The fish look like they are swimming on the backdrop. So cool!

I created this backdrop for my recent Bubble Guppies Party. To give the backdrop an additional Under The Sea look, add Seaweed Cardboard Stand-Ups and Under The Sea Glitter Centerpiece on the table under the plate backdrop.Looking for more Bubble Guppies party ideas?
