Select the stencil letters required to spell out the message for your sign. I used stencil letters to spell out "Olive Oil Bar"
Alternatively, use adhesive letters or use your Cricut to cut the required letters onto an adhesive material.
Cut out the individual letters needed (note: ensure you have removed the cardboard that creates the letter from the stencil card) and tape them to the Stained Wood Sign in the correct order.
TIP: Layout the letters before taping to get the placement and spacing how you want it first.
Once the letters have been taped down, use a foam paint brush and dab chalk paint over the letter until the entire letter has been painted.
Let this dry before removing the tape or stencil to avoid smudging.
Next, turn the Stained Wood Sign over and staple ribbon to the back. Create a loop at the top center and leave 2 pieces of ribbon flowing from each bottom corner.
Then hang the sign from the boxwood* backdrop using an S-hook.
*Note: Learn how to create the backdrop here with my How to Make a Boxwood Wedding Seating Chart instructions.
It is important to secure the sign to the girdwall behind the boxwood with S-hooks, 1 from the top and 2 at each bottom corner to assist in holding the weight of the sign.
Using the S-hook that the ribbon is tied around, add a spray of lemons and greenery.
Note: Faux lemon sprays have wire stems that can be wrapped around the hook.
The sign is now ready and you can set up your own DIY Olive Oil Favor Bar underneath it.
