I started by giving each person a sock. The Men’s Usher Socks were great because they had the perfect amount of stretch, rather than being a bulky sock. We cut the toe off of each sock, just above the seam. You’re left with a tube, with open ends on either side.

Next, you’re going to make the “frosting” using the felt. Choose the color you want and draw the shape you want onto the felt. Cut out the shape, cutting through one side of it so you can cut the hole through the center. Tip: I drew an outline of my donut with a pencil on the felt, then cut my frosting just inside of that shape so I knew it would fit perfectly.

Once you’ve made your frosting, glue it to the top of your donut. Time to decorate your donut! The fabric paint pens are great for this. You can do a precise pattern or spread the paint like icing.

The paint and glue dry pretty quickly, but just to be safe, I placed the finished donuts on a paper towel to dry. And there you have it! Plush play donuts that are fun to make, and fun to play with for days to come!
Be sure to check out the entire party including my Donut Sticker Plates, plus the yummy recipe for chocolate mini donuts!
