Select the sea shells you’d like to use. We found that the shells that worked best were flat clam rose shells. The shell is easier to drill a hole through.

Place shell on top of a cardboard box. Place drill bit close to the top of the shell and press gently while drilling your hole. The cardboard box stops the drill from hitting the table when it goes through the shell.

Next, take a 8-10 mm jump ring and pull apart the ring. I was able to do this with my fingers but you can also use pliers. Slide the ring through the hole in the sea shell. Using the pliers close the metal jump ring.

Select the charms (I used these Summer Charms) you would like to add. Use a smaller jump ring to add the charms. We used 6 mm metal jump rings to add our charms. I absolutely love all of the sea-themed charms! Ella and Annie really liked the summer charms. The summer charms are a bit larger, colorful and perfect for kiddos.

Add a small 6mm jump ring to each charm you want to add. Wait to close the jump ring until you attach it to the 8mm ring you added to the shell. Once you slide the charms onto the larger jump ring attached to the shell, use pliers to close the rings.
If you want to use the mini bottle charms, add some colored sand to make them stand out!

Slide the beaded chain necklace through the larger jump ring and you’re done! Do you love working with sea shells? Check out how Ella and Annie made this gorgeous sea shell wind chime this summer!
