Thread a needle with silver baker’s twine unfurled off of the roll. Don’t trim it just yet.

With the needle still on the twine, unroll the string to about 12″ in length, and cut with scissors. Pull the needle to the middle of the twine and bring the ends together. Tie a double knot towards the end of the pair of twine ends.

String tiny pom-poms onto the twine through the needle. Make sure to push the needle up through the very center of each pom-pom to ensure a tight and even fitting for each. You may choose pom-poms in a coordinated or random color scheme — it’s up to you!

String as many or as few pom-poms as you’d like. Since you’ll be repeating the steps to create multiple strands, consider doing a longer strand with about 10 pom-poms, a slightly shorter medium length strand with 7 pom-poms, and a short strand of 5 pom-poms. Once you’re satisfied with the pom-pom collection on the length of twine, cut the twine off of the needle with scissors. This will create two separate loose ends at the top of the pom-pom strand.

Repeat steps 1 – 4 to create multiple pom-pom strands, then tie the two trimmed ends of your first strand onto a metallic book ring. Repeat with all of your pom-pom strands on the same book ring, and then trim the twine ends with scissors as closely as you can to the knots for a finished look.

Open the metallic book ring and clip it around the neck of a lamp to give your lighting a pop of bold color and playful texture!
