Gather a Yellow Favor Box, Stencils and a black Sharpie.

Using the stencil and Sharpie, trace and fill the letters to spell out PET ROCK on the box.

The Pet Rock boxes from back in the day had air holes in the top. To mimic this look, trace three “O”s on the top section of the box.

Fill the “O”s to make them look like holes.

Next, place a Rock-Shaped Bouncing Ball in each box.

Add a few more 1970s icons, such as Pop Rocks, Disco Ball Necklaces and Peace Sign Buttons.

Set the boxes out on your party table for your guests to enjoy! Be sure to check out all the details from my far out 1970s Party including a recipe for Tang Milkshakes and tutorial for DIY 1970s Party Backdrop.
