Remove the DIY Coasters from the packaging and wipe the surface clean with a damp paper towel to remove any dust. Once the surface is dry begin creating a design with the Patriotic Washi Tape. For my first design I decided to create a flag. Run the blue polka dot washi tape vertically down the side of the coaster.
Now it’s time to add the horizontal stripes. I alternated the red stripe and red polka dot washi tape to create my stripes. Here’s a tip: Let the red washi tape overlap the blue tape to ensure your rows are perfectly straight.
Once you have all of your stripes on the coaster take a craft knife and carefully cut the red washi tape where it meets the blue washi tape.
Remove the cut pieces of the red washi tape to reveal your perfectly straight lines.
Add a white star to the corner using stickers, or use your cutting machine to cut a star out of white vinyl.
Use a paintbrush to paint a thin coat of Mod Podge® on top of your washi tape to help protect and seal it. Let the Mod Podge® dry completely.
