First, separate out the white Jumbo Duck Quills. Alternatively you can use White Ostrich Feathers.
Paint the feathers using the Tropical Acrylic Paint Set. To achieve the perfect pastel colors, I added a bit of white acrylic paint to the colors in the tropical paint set.
Tip: Water down the paint so the feathers do not harden when dry. For ostrich feathers which are softer use a higher water content.

Next, remove the other side of the back and attach the tape to the wall.
Layer the colors one by one, the upper layer covering the tape of the lower layer.
Tip: Start from the bottom of the backdrop and work your way upwards to avoid lifting feathers up to place others underneath.

For the top row of feathers add a strip of White Double Faced Satin Ribbon across the top. This is so that the tape and top of the feathers cannot be seen.
To do this, apply the tape to the bottom half of the ribbon. Add the feathers to the tape. Next, fold the ribbon over to enclose the feathers inside. Press firmly to secure.
Optional: To ensure the feathers are securely enclosed in the ribbon you can either add additional adhesive, hot glue. Or sew the feathers inside by sewing across the middle of the ribbon.

Next, use command strips to attach the ribbon and top row of feathers so that they overlap the feathers below.
