
Download the Free Paper Leaf Printable here! and print it onto thick white cardstock. Cut your favorite leafy shapes out using scissors.

Trace the leaves onto green paper using a pencil or pen.

Cut the leaves out with scissors.

Use scissors to cut brown paper into thin strips, roughly half an inch wide. They don't need to be perfect.

Use a marker to draw a grid pattern onto all four sides of as many square flowerpots as you'd like for your collection. Again, the pattern can be loose—it doesn't need to be perfect.

Crumple up the brown paper strips you cut in Step 4, and push them down into the flowerpots to look like dirt.

Use scissors to cut craft wire into pieces, anywhere from 12-18 inches long. You'll want to have a wide variety of lengths cut to mimic the look of a real plant. Push the wire pieces down into the crumpled brown paper until they feel snug. Note that you can place floral foam beneath the crumpled brown paper for more stability.

To finish, use green masking tape to attach the leaves to the bare wire one at a time.
