First, prepare the box that will hold the bulk of the paper planes. Measure a piece of pastel pink paper to fit the upper lid of a White Mini Suitcase Centerpiece. Cut it out and glue into the lid.

Next, create the paper planes - cut A4 size pieces of paper out of maps. Then fold & unfold in half lengthwise to create a guideline. Fold the top corners in to the crease. Next, fold the top down like an envelope leaving 1/2" at the bottom. Then fold the top corners into the middle. Leave a small triangle hanging below the folds - fold this up to secure previous folds.
Next fold in half, but outwards on itself, not inwards (the little triangle fold should be visible). Finally, fold the wings down, the edges should meet the bottom edge of the airplane.

Once the Harrier style paper planes are finished glue the center seam together to make the shape and size uniform.
Next, add a Travel Stamp Sticker to one of the wings on each plane. On the other wing I cut out "wishes" for the happy couple in gold foil using my Cricut.
Alternatively, if you do not have a Cricut write the wishes in gold foil pen or use gold alphabet stickers.

Next, place the paper planes into the mini suitcase ready for guests to take as they enter the wedding ceremony.
Guests can toss the planes overhead as the couple make their way back the aisle after exchanging vows.
Save several planes for decorating the space. Glue one or two planes onto the inside lid of the mini suitcase. Use mounting putty or removable adhesive strips to attach more planes to the wall above.
The plans can also be adhered to suitcase handles, placed under globes or in floral arrangements.

Next, trace the Clear Acrylic Sign onto map paper & cut out. Then glue the map paper face down onto the acrylic sign (so the map shows through to the other side). On the blank side of the sign I cut out "Fly Away With Us" in gold foil using my Cricut. I glued it to the sign so the map shows behind the words. Alternatively, if you do not have a Cricut trace the words onto the acrylic before gluing the map paper. Use a gold foil pen. Or use gold alphabet stickers to create the phrase.
You can find the tracing template HERE.

Next, cut smaller pieces of pink paper, approximately 2" x 3". Using the instructions in step 2, fold into mini paper planes.

Finally, glue the mini planes onto the sign. Style the sign and mini suitcase of paper plane wishes with a Pioneer Globe on top of vintage suitcases. Collect or rent suitcases, you can also add vintage stamps, old post cards or travel notes to help create authentic travel-themed decor.
