
First you will need to decide how many awards you will give out for the night, then blow up that number of balloons using the helium tank. Once you have blown up the balloon, tie a long string of curling ribbonto the balloon. Take the balloons and the gold metallic paint pen and start writing the “awards” on them. For example, if one of your awards for the night will be “Best Smile” write that on one balloon.

Tie the balloon to one of the Movie Buff Statues, set them aside.

With the gold metallic paint pen write the title of each award on the black popcorn boxes. These are what you will use to collect the votes. I wanted this activity to be interactive and fun so I set up a station with the popcorn boxes and tickets so that guest could cast their votes. Guests wrote the names of other guests’ on their tickets and then dropped them in the respective award box.

Tally up the names and determine who is the winner for each category. Write the name of the winner on the printable award card with the gold metallic paint pen.

If you want, you can put the award cards in an envelope and pull them out to announce each winner, just like they do during the Oscars. Hand the winner their DIY Oscars Awards and have them pose for a photo in the Oscar Party Photo Booth.
