Begin by cutting down your Flag Ribbon down to however many flags you would like. We chose to have our bunting be 6 flags wide. Proceed to trace each flag onto your chosen color of cardstock. Using your ruler, measure approximately a 1/4″ out from each side of your tracing and to form a new larger flag perimeter. This will serve as the backing for your Flag Ribbon.
Using your hot glue gun, adhere the Flag Ribbon to each correlating size piece of triangular cardstock.
Place a drop of hot glue on each Anchor Charm and adhere to the 2 largest flags of the Flag Ribbon.
Cut approximately 12 inches of the Natural Cording and adhere bunting. Make sure to leave a few inches of Natural Cording on either side for the next step!
Cut approximately 3″ off both paper straws.
Tie each end of the Natural Cording to a paper straw. Your cake bunting is now complete!
Place natural wooden skewers into top of cake where you would like bunting to sit.
Simply place the paper straws over top of the wood skewers and you have a cute-as-can-be cake bunting!
We just love how this simple DIY adds such an adorable detail to our cake; creating the perfectly stylish dessert decor for any nautical themed event!
