Using a piece of freezer paper that's large enough to cover the wood slice, trace an oval onto the matte side of the freezer paper with a pen or pencil.

Use scissors to cut out the oval. Iron the freezer paper oval (wax side down) onto the felt color of your choice. The wax helps the paper adhere to the felt to make cutting easier.



Repeat steps 2-3 for the stable and star templates using brown and yellow felt.



Once the oval, stable, and star have been ironed on, use scissors to cut out the shapes from the felt. After cutting out the oval, stable, and star, carefully remove the freezer paper backing from each piece.

Use a hot glue gun to adhere the felt oval to the wood slice.

Attach the nativity character pieces to a piece of felt using a hot glue gun. I used white felt since there's a white outline around each character piece, but you could also use the same felt color that you chose for the background.

Use sharp scissors to cut around each nativity character piece.



Add the stable, star, and nativity character pieces to the wood slice felt board. Invite your kids to play and reenact the Nativity story by adding the pieces as you read or retell the story.
