Begin creating spiders out of various sizes of foam balls. We chose to paint our foam balls solid black, but can be any color you want! You will need one DIY Small Foam Ball and one DIY Medium Foam Ball for a larger size spider and one Foam Ball for a smaller size spider. Once the paint has dried, stick a toothpick into the larger ball and push the smaller ball into the opposite end of the toothpick. Add a small dab of hot glue at the base of the toothpick to ensure the heads did not fall off. We created a total of three large spiders and four small spiders for our backdrop.

Next, cut black chenille stems in half to create legs for the larger spiders. Cut them into fourths to create the legs for the smaller spiders. Gently poke four legs into each side of the spider's body and bend the legs to give them "feet". Use hot glue to secure one Black Yarn Pom-Pom to give each of the smaller spiders a "head".

Now stick one sewing pin into the center portion of the back of each spider. Cut a long length of baker's twine (we used the pink and purple for our spiders) and tie a small knot around the head of the sewing pin.

Next, give three Large Plastic Spiderwebs some personality by splatter painting them with white, light pink and lavender paint. Add a small amount of water to the paint to thin it down a bit so it is easier to slide off the brush. Hang the spiderwebs on your wall using Glue Dots® once the paint has dried.

To create balloon spiders begin by inflating one Black 9" Latex Balloon for the spider's head, one 11" Onyx Black Balloon for the spider's body and four Black 60" Balloons for the spider's legs. Knot the two ends of the black round balloons together to secure the balloon "head" to the body.

The spider's legs are constructed by folding each of the long black balloons in half and twisting them in the middle to create two individual legs. Continue to layer and twist each of the remaining three balloons together to form a total of eight legs. Position the body of the spider in the center of the legs and using an un-inflated long 60" black balloon, tie all the pieces all together, trimming the excess portion of the balloon once secure. We created a total of five spiders for our backdrop.

Now add two Black Googly Eyes to each of your spiders, and to up the cute factor, attach a Pre-Tied Elastic Glitter Bow to the top of her head (cut the elastic tie off using scissors first). Glue Dots® were used to secure each of the items to the spiders.

To create the balloon spiderweb clusters, inflate various Chrome Purple Balloons, Chrome Silver Balloons, White Balloons, and lavender and pink balloons using a Hand-held Air Balloon Pump. Inflate the balloons in varying sizes for added dimension. Once inflated, create multiple balloon "quads" by knotting two balloons together to form a duplet and then twisting two duplets together. Use a long length of 30 lb. fishing line to wrap around the middle of the balloon quads, squeeze them as close together as possible. Wrap the fishing line around the final balloon quad in a figure eight pattern to "lock" the balloons together. Each of our spider web clusters contains approximately six quads each.

Once you have created three spiderweb balloon clusters, tie them to self-adhesive plastic hooks attached to your wall above each of the Large Plastic Spiderwebs using additional lengths of fishing line. We opted to create two additional clusters to sit on either side of our dessert table on the floor as well.

Now wrap each of your spiderweb balloon clusters with Black Spider Web, weaving in and around each of the balloons.

Perch a balloon spider atop each of the spiderweb clusters, securing with a few Glue Dots® as needed.

For an added touch of whimsy, hang the foam ball spiders from the spiderweb balloon clusters by applying a piece of clear tape to the end of the baker's twine and affixing it directly to one of the balloons in the cluster. We hung three from our center cluster and two from the remaining clusters.

Finally, style your dessert table in front of your adorable, not so spooky, spider balloon backdrop and once everyone has enjoyed the nibbles, push your dessert table away and you have the perfect Halloween selfie spot!
Be sure to creep on over to see how we styled the rest of our frightfully cute Modern Spider Themed Halloween Party!
