Using acrylic paint or fabric paint and a flat bristled paint brush, paint the bottom half of the DIY White Linen Drawstring Bags. We chose to paint our bags a bright aqua, bubble gum pink and purple.
Once the paint is dry, apply a layer of Mod Podge® to the bottom section of a few of the bags. While the Mod Podge® is still wet, carefully apply gold leaf. Use a chubby paint brush to brush the excess gold leaf off the bag. Once dry, apply another layer of Mod Podge® over the foil to lock it in place. Allow time for the Mod Podge® to dry.
To create a fun watercolor bag, scribble onto a thick plastic bag with markers. Create an ombre of colors or splotches of colors here and there to create different effects.
Use a paintbrush to apply a generous amount of water to the top of a white linen drawstring bag. While the bag is still wet, place the plastic bag, marker side down, onto the top of the bag. Use your fingers to spread the color around. The more you mash, the more the colors will blend together. Once you have mashed and blended to your hearts content, let the bag dry. You can speed up this process by using a blowdryer to help with drying time.
Add a bit of modern, rustic elegance by attaching wood tags onto the bags. Use acrylic paint and a flat bristled paint brush to paint the middle of the wood slices. Drill a small hole into the top of the Small Wood Slices.
Thread a length of Twine Cording through the wood slices and tie onto the bags.
Easy and fun to make, these DIY Modern Easter Favor Bags make great Easter favors, place cards or additions to your Easter decor! Don’t forget to fill your bags with yummy handmade goodies for your guests!
