Keeping both sides of the Clear Egg Ornament together, apply a long length of washi tape across the egg.

Paint one section of the egg using a flat bristled brush and acrylic paint. Paint multiple sections on each of the eggs by removing the washi tape and re-applying it along the straight edge of the last section you painted. Make sure to let the paint dry between each section. Try putting the washi tape on in different angles on each of the ornaments to create a fun, modern pattern.

Apply a layer of Mod Podge® to one section of the egg. While the Mod Podge® is still wet, carefully apply gold leaf or gold glitter. We chose to do one of each – one glittered and one using gold foil. Use a chubby paint brush to brush the excess gold leaf off the egg. Once dry, apply another layer of Mod Podge® over the glitter or foil to lock them in place. Allow time for the Mod Podge® to dry.

Once all the paint and Mod Podge® is dry, open the egg ornament and insert a few tablespoons of gold glitter. Close the ornament and thread a length of Twine Cording through the ornament holes. Tie the ends of the twine to create a hanger.

Easy and fun to make, these DIY Modern Easter Egg Ornaments make great Easter favors or a modern addition to your Easter decor!
