Give your kids some inspiration. I told my girls I wanted these medals to be inspirational, so we talked about what pictures we could use that would inspire our family. From rainbows and stars to mountains and running shoes, my girls loved putting some thought into each medal. This made the medals more meaningful and not just have scribbled pictures on them.

Let each child draw an inspirational picture on the medals.
Since these medals are actually plastic, I was worried that I would need to use the paper inside, but these fabric markers worked great drawing directly on the plastic. We loved the colors of the markers and how well they worked on the medals. If the children messed up, we could quickly erase and start again.
Let the marker dry for about 5-10 minutes. They won’t smudge but I like to add a little drying time to be safe.

Now your medals are ready to be awarded! Make sure you check out my International Summer Games Family Party, plus my snack recipe and photo booth idea.
