Trace the top of the cake stand onto marble contact paper.

Remove the contact paper from the backing and carefully place on top of the cake stand. If bubbles appear gently remove the contact paper and place again.

Cut ½ inch thick strips of contact paper and place around the cake stand in layers. The sides of the cake stand are a little harder to cover and this layering method will be easier than trying to apply one large strip.

Once your cake stand is completely covered in marble contact paper apply gold foil to the top for a bit of shimmer.

Before using your marble cake stand, cut a cardboard round about the size of your cake. Place this round on top of the cake stand to protect your marble cake stand from any grease or crumbs and makes it food safe.
