Begin by painting the bottom portion of a DIY Unfinished Wood Pineapple Shape light pink. Next, paint the top of the pineapple light green. To give the greenery more depth, dip the tip of a paintbrush into a darker shade of green and lightly blend the two colors together.

Once the paint on the pineapple sign has dried, it's time to add the lettering. You can either download and print the lei sign template here and follow the steps for tracing the lettering onto the sign like we did with our Wooden Pineapple Sign. If you have a cutting machine you can find the cut file here and cut the lettering out on black vinyl.

Now add various leis into containers to display them on your lei station. We chose Natural Sea Shell Leis, Luau Ruffle Petal Flower Leis, Men's Polyester Leis, Two-tone Flower Polyester Leis and Mini Floral Petal Polyester Leis. Clear Cylinder Jars, Short Round Pedestal Jars and Large Clear Cylinder Jars are perfect containers to use, as you can still see the colorful leis peeking through them!

Now you're ready to set up the lei station! We began by placing a table in front of our Beach Ball and Palm Frond Backdrop and then added a runner of Artificial Tropical Leaves to the top. A Tropical Luau Table Skirt was added to the front of the table to further the look and feel of a luau.

Next, we placed Beaded Lei Bracelets and Beaded Lei Anklets to a woven bamboo basket, which was placed in the center of the table. The Large Clear Cylinder Jars filled with leis were placed at each end of our table.

We continued incorporating leis to the table by adding the Clear Cylinder Jars closer to the center basket on the table.

The station was finished with the Short Round Pedestal Jars filled with leis.

Don't forget to add your painted DIY Unfinished Wood Pineapple Shape to the side of your table!

Guests were thrilled to shed their graduation caps and gowns and get into the spirit of our Tropical Chic Graduation Party when they arrived! They were even more excited to take scores of selfies in front of the DIY Beach Ball and Palm Frond Backdrop while wearing the layers of leis. Be sure to check out our Flamingo and Coconut Vase Centerpiece Idea to round out the tropical feel of your next luau!
