Start with a cardboard box. Determine the size of cardboard box you will need. Measure your child from the top of their shoulders to a few inches below their waist to determine what size box you will need. Be sure to use a box that is deep enough to fit around your child and have the box flaps close in the back. For my son (who is 6 yrs old), I used a 9.5in. x 18in. x 12in. box that fit him perfectly.
Cut the short end and flap off of one side of a cardboard box. Then using a dinner plate as a guide, draw the cutout for the neck then cut it out using scissors or an X-Acto knife.
Using a dessert plate as a guide, draw the cutout for both armholes then cut them out using an X-Acto knife.
Put a layer of hot glue around the bottom rim of four of these snack bowls and attach them to the front of the box in two rows.
Cover the entire outside of a cardboard box and snack bowls with black spray paint. Let fully dry.
Using hot glue, attach a gold Batman Batarang to the top front of the box.
Put on the Batman Costume body suit. Slip the box on to your child and secure the back flaps with black masking tape.
Finish the look with a Batman Mask and Batman Cape.
Put on the Batman Mask and tie on the Batman Cape.
Add some fun accessories like Batman Batarangs or Batman Grappling Hook!
