Begin by drawing a horseshoe shape on a large piece of paper. I find it easiest to fold the paper in half and trace the shape on the folded side to ensure the finished shape is symmetrical. Cut out the shape and unfold the paper to reveal the full horseshoe.

Using your horseshoe shape as a guide, trace it onto a piece of foam board. Carefully cut around the shape with an Exacto knife.

Next, cover the entire horseshoe shape with red acrylic paint and set aside to dry.

Once the paint on the horseshoe has dried, remove rosebuds from a Red Rose Garland and use hot glue to affix them directly onto the horseshoe in rows of three. Continue adding roses until the entire horseshoe is covered.

Remove sections of leaves from the Red Rose Garland and carefully tuck them in between the roses at various points on the horseshoe to add more dimension.

Now cut two long lengths of Black and White Striped Satin Ribbon and use hot glue to attach the end of each piece of ribbon to the back side of the top portions of the horseshoe. You will tie the two pieces together in a bow to hang the wreath. Cut any excess length of ribbon once you have tied your bow.

Finally, hang your gorgeous creation over your dessert table for your Kentucky Derby Party! Be sure to check out the entire Kentucky Derby Party for more ideas here!
