Layer the colored sand in the quart plastic mason jars. We used traditional Halloween colors; orange, purple, black and white. These quart mason jars are great for kids because they are plastic!
Decorate the inside of the jars first, this way you know where to place the stickers. For the first Halloween jar Ella and Annie layered purple, green and orange colored sand. We then added a cute jack-o-lantern stress toy and scary plastic spiders to the inside of our terrarium.
For the second Halloween terrarium we layered black, white and orange colored sand. The kids added eyeballs, plastic spiders and a jack-o-lantern tea light.
Lastly, the kids decorated the outside (and a few stickers on the back inside of the jar too!) of their jars with the Happy Halloween Foam Stickers and the Spooky Eyeball Foam Stickers. Just for fun we added the sticky zombies and bendable skeletons! At night the jack-o-lantern tea lights make the haunted Halloween terrariums have an eerie glow!
