Begin by fringe cutting your paper or plastic cups into 1/2" strips leaving about 1" from the bottom of the cup uncut. Then poke a hole in the bottom of the cup using the end of a sharp pair of scissors or a craft knife.

Measure the length of garland needed and cut a piece of thread or baker's twine to this length plus 12". Then, thread the paper cup onto the string or bakers twine through the hole in the bottom of the cup. Add a dab of hot glue to the string where it threads through the cup to hold it in place.

Continue to thread on cups in any color pattern you want adding a dab of hot glue to hold the string in place. Your garland can be all one single color, or you can use a variety of shades of blue or pink to create a gradient toned garland. Once all your cups are threaded onto your garland, loop the end of the string over and tie a knot to create a loop to hang your garland.

Use your new garland to decorate for a party or hang it in a child's room or playroom for a fun pop of color!
