Start by spraying the DIY Wood Maracas with a coat of Rust-Oleum Metallic Gold Spray Paint and let dry. Apply a second coat if needed. I also painted a few Skull Drinking Cups for another fun decor item for my fiesta, see it here.

Once the maracas are dry, simply wrap a piece of Gold Washi Tape around the handle. Trim the tips of the tape with scissors.

Set them out on your party table for guests. If you are skilled in hand lettering, you can even write your guests names on the washi tape and use them as name place cards. Or simply write “thank you” on them. So many fun possibilities for these DIY Maracas. You can make them as simple or detailed as you want to fit your decor and style. These are also perfect for guests at the wedding, they make the perfect noisemakers!
