Start with some floral wire. I tested one for length around my little girls head, left a finger or two of extra space for the flowers, and used that as a template to make the others. One tip: make a couple that are bigger than you think they should be. I learned kids’ head sizes vary a bit.

I bought a bunch of silk flowers at the craft store, then cut them down to individual blossoms. This made it really cheap per flower. I then winded the stem of the flower around the wire crown.

These beautiful feather wire butterflies added a little something extra and were really easy to add on, as they have a long soft wire stem.

Once I had the crown how I wanted it, I used floral tape to further secure it, and also cover up any pokey ends of the wire or flowers.

For the ribbon tail, I used this beautiful all occasion ribbon pack and selected 4 colors I liked together, pulled them completely off, and cut them exactly in half. That gave me enough for two crowns. I used a simple slip knot to secure the ribbon at the back of the crown, and let it hang down the back.

The kids looked so adorable in their wings and crowns. It made it feel even more like they were real fairies in a real fairy garden! The sun was shining and it just seemed like a magical morning.
