Using a hot glue gun, adhere small portions of reindeer moss to the surface of the lantern lid. These will give you more structure to add the flowers in the next step, and also add a nice natural element that makes the piece look very real.
Trim the stems of two or three flowers from a peony bunch, using sharp shears. We added a misting of spray paint in shades of pink and coral to these peonies.
Glue the flowers to the lantern, using the reindeer moss as a stabilizing base. Add bits of greenery to enhance the natural look of the design. Here we used small pieces of a faux eucalyptus greenery garland to adorn the peonies.
Cut a length of cording to desired length and tie into a knot, creating a circle. Loop the cord through the handle of the lantern. This will allow you to hang it from trees, a backdrop structure or hooks.
Add a battery operated gold ombre candle to the lantern.
Replace the lid securely by looping the lantern handle through designated points on the lantern and the lid. Repeat all steps to create a second coordinating lantern; luckily, they come in a set!
