Begin your project by sanding the set of apothecary jars with a low grit sandpaper and scratch them up a little. This step helps the paint to adhere to the jars a lot easier. Next, mix two parts gold and one part black acrylic paint together and use a paint brush to lightly cover the jars.

While the paint is still wet, smear off most of it using a paper towel until there is a haze covering the bottles.

After you have wiped off most of the paint, allow the jars to dry completely.

Print the apothecary labels found here onto white cardstock and trim the labels to fit onto the jars. Adhere the labels to the apothecary jars using glue dots.

Now you're ready to set up your apothecary jars into your cabinet of curiosity. Fill the jars with creepy ceramic bones, spooky eyeballs, black feathers and any other oddities you can think of!
