Unroll the chalkboard laminate and with the clear packaging still on the wood plaque, trace around the edge using a pencil. This is real wood, each piece will be different and once the packaging is off, bits of wood will flake off naturally. Then draw a smooth line about 1.5″ inside of the traced line and cut it out to create the perfect sized chalkboard surface for your exact piece of wood.

Peel the backing from the chalkboard laminate and carefully apply it to the wood plaque. I did this by placing the top edge down first, then I peeled the rest of the backing off from underneath to get a smooth application.

Decorate your new chalkboard plaque using this darling set of bistro chalk markers and some cute flowers. You can practice on a scrap piece of chalkboard laminate, but remember it’s just chalk so you can erase it if you mess up!

These metallic silver and gold self-adhesive round studs make the perfect flower centers!

Download and print our free “Days Until I Do” design onto regular computer paper and trim down. Using the side of a pencil, generously color the backside of the design. This adds graphite to the back of the printable for transferring the design.

Center the printable on your wood plaque and trace the entire design. When you trace the design it transfers the graphite from the backside onto the chalkboard – for SUPER easy tracing! Lift up the printable to see the design left on the chalkboard!

Trace the design using bistro chalk markers and then add your special number of countdown days. Then simply use a wet wipe to keep updating your unique countdown! So fun and so crafty-chic!

This project is perfect for any DIY bride…. or would make the perfect gift.
