Print out the Day of the Dead coloring page that you will add to your pumpkin.

Decorate your image using colored pencils.

Paint your pumpkin with 2-3 coats of white acrylic paint and a foam brush, letting dry between coats.

To add the image to the pumpkin, spread an even layer of Mod Podge to the back of the image with a foam brush.

Press the image onto the front of pumpkin, positioning it where you want it. There will be some creasing in the paper in order to fit the rounded pumpkin but you can smooth the creases down with your fingers to minimize them. Seal the image to the pumpkin by spreading an even layer of Mod Podge on top and letting dry.

To add fiesta flowers to the pumpkin, start by removing the flower from the hair clip. You can do so by pulling it apart and regluing the dark green flower base to the petals with a dab of hot glue if needed.

Add a dab of hot glue to the flower base and stick to the pumpkin, holding in place a few seconds until the glue dries. I added my flowers just above the skull image to look like a floral crown.

The Day of the Dead coloring book has a variety of images that you could use to make these pumpkins. This is just one idea!
