Paint the Unfinished Wood Skull Shapes with neon acrylic paint and allow time for the paint to dry. We found it handy to use our White Craft Cups to hold the paint and used a Sponge Paint Brush to quickly apply the paint.
Cut 1" x 2" felt strips, one for each of the wood skulls. Cut a long length of Baker's Twine. Hot glue each skull to the baker's twine, approximately 6-8" apart.
Cut a stack of tissue paper into 5" squares. Accordion fold the stack of tissue paper squares and then staple the middle to the bakers twine, centering the tissue paper between the wood skulls.
Carefully fluff out the tissue paper flowers and then hang up your garland. Create more Day of the Dead projects like this DIY Sugar Skull Tray and DIY Day of the Dead Maracas. Shop all our Day of the Dead decor ideas here.
