We were able to find some water bottles that had embossed ridges on them. They looked just like rows of corn! Fill the clear, empty water bottles with a few tablespoons of yellow acrylic paint. Replace the lid on the water bottles and give them a shake until the inside of the bottle is coated with paint.

Cut a few different lengths of PVC pipe and paint them with green acrylic paint and a flat-bristled paint brush. Allow time for the paint to dry.

Fill a Large Galvanized Pail with a foam floral brick, scrap paper and sand. Weighing the bucket down with sand will ensure your corn stalks don't fall over. Poke the painted PVC pipes into the floral foam.

Spray the inside of the bucket with expanding spray foam and let the foam set. This will help hold the PVC pipe in place as well as weigh down the bucket. Once the foam is set, paint the foam with green acrylic paint.

Use hot glue and clear packing tape to adhere the painted water bottles to the PVC pipe.

Fold a stack of Green Tissue Paper together and cut it into a 9-10" leaf shape. Stacking them makes the tissue paper easier to cut and allows you to cut multiple leaves at once. Staple the stack of tissue paper leaves to keep them together and hot glue them to the back of the painted water bottles.

Cut long cardstock leaves and use hot glue to finish off the cornstalk.

These cornstalks are perfect for Wizard of Oz Trunk or Treat decorations, a farm themed party, or a dramatic play center at school. For more Wizard of Oz decorations, be sure to check out the Wizard of Oz Inspired Trunk or Treat Idea here.
