Begin by painting the wood leaf shapes with the acrylic craft paint. Two packs of wood leaves were used for this garland. Shades of pink, orange, yellow, and blue all work really well for fall. Add in lavender and periwinkle to get the look of this garland. Once all the leaves are painted, let the paint dry.

Once the paint is dry, use a gold paint pen or marker to write your phrase of choice on the leaves. For this garland, we used "Give Thanks".

Next, overlap the leaves and use a glue gun to attach them to each other for each word.

Once the hot glue has dried, flip the words over and add a dab of hot glue to attach the leaves to a 6 in. long piece of baker's twine. Repeat with all your words and add glue to any extra leaves to each end of the garland to fill it out.

Once the glue has set, tie a small loop in each end and hang up across your mantel or over a credenza for a fun and colorful fall look. See how I styled the full the Colorful Fall Mantel here.
