Begin by tracing a wooden star shape onto mini canvas drawstring bags.

Next, cut the star shape out using a sharp pair of scissors. Be sure to cut the whole bag so you end up with two identical canvas stars.

Now add four strips of thin washi tape parallel to each other on a diagonal angle to form three stripes. Leave a slightly wider space between the middle two pieces of washi tape than the outer pieces. This will leave you with two thinner stripes bordering a wider stripe in the center. Make sure to press firmly on the tape to form a tight bond so paint doesn't seep underneath.

Next, use a small paintbrush to paint the insides of the three stripes with red acrylic paint.

While the paint is drying on the stars, apply wood stain in a shade of your choosing to letters that represent the first initial of each guest.

Once the paint on the stars has dried, line up the two matching pieces of burlap. To adhere them together, carefully run a bead of hot glue along the inner edges of one of burlap pieces. Be sure to leave one point of the star open so it can be stuffed in the next step. Press the two burlap pieces together.

Working in one point of the star at a time, begin inserting small portions of polyester batting. Use the flat end of a bamboo skewer to gently push the batting further into each point. Use hot glue to seal the final point once you've finished stuffing the star.

Now add a length of red baker's twine to the back of each star, securing with a dot of hot glue.

Finally, wrap a short piece of boxwood wreath ribbon to the baker's twine and place each Canvas Star Ornament Place Card next to the place settings around your table during your Cozy Farmhouse Christmas Brunch!
