First, cut the red and blue draw cords off of a Ball Carry Net. Cut through the tight circle at the bottom of the net (the smaller opening). Keep cutting down the length of the net until the net no longer forms a circle and can be laid out flat. I used 2.5 nets to reach around a 36" round table.

Next, create the basketball hoops net. Tape the looped ends of the net to the table. Evenly space the loops. Let the net hang to the floor. Trim if necessary.

Create the rim of the basketball hoop. Tape around the outer edge of the table with orange masking tape covering the top of the loops. Next, tape on the top of the table, around the edge and covering the top of the loops.

Use black masking tape to create the backboard. First, create the outer box; a 26"W x 24"H rectangle. Keep in mind that these measurements are for a table of 36" diameter. Adjust proportion for a smaller or larger table.

Next, create the inner box; a 14.5"W x 16"H rectangle. Adjust proportion for a smaller or larger table.

To create the illusion of a basketball hitting the backboard and going into the basketball net, create a series of staggered, clear levels. For the 2 upper levels, set up two Clear Donut Serving Stands; one taller and one shorter. Glue an additional acrylic square onto the top of the stands.

On each stand glue a roll of washi tape. Place a Mini Basketball on top of each roll. The washi tape will prevent the ball from rolling off the stand.

To create the next lower level, place a Clear Cylinder Vase in front of the stands. Place a basketball on top of this. Glue the basketball onto the vase to secure more firmly if desired.

For the final level, place a roll of washi tape directly onto the table. Place a Mini Basketball on top of the roll. The washi tape prevents the ball from rolling off the table.

Once the ball illusion is complete, set up the remainder of the bar. Add your beverage selection, cups and napkins to the basketball hoop bar. The bar is now open!
