First, you need to get your backdrop printed at a local print shop or office supply store. I got mine printed at Staples. Simply download the Free Printable Backdrop here. Most office supply stores have an online ordering system where you can upload your file for printing. You'll want to choose "engineering prints" or blueprints from the printing options, and 24x36 as the size. You can also select black and white since there is no color to this backdrop.

Your "engineering print" backdrop will come rolled up. Very carefully (the paper is quite thin), unroll it and place it open, on a table, under two heavy objects like books to help the paper relax. If you don't have time, you can put it directly on the wall. It helps to have two people help unroll and tape the corners to the wall with clear tape. To create a frame for the backdrop, I used strips of pink tulle and folded it over twice to make the color pops more. Tape this around the backdrop to create a rectangular frame.

Once your tulle frame is complete, assemble and hang mint and hot pink tissue paper diamonds. I simply taped the string on the diamonds directly to the wall.

Add more mint and hot pink hanging decorations to create a full backdrop look. I added mint and hot pink tulle pom-poms and mint and hot pink tissue paper balls.

Now you have the perfect backdrop to throw a Barbie Birthday Party! Make sure to see how to set up a DIY Barbie Glam Bar and make Pink Barbie Blondies for your party.
