Depending on what color foam pumpkins you want to create (or what color pumpkin you have on hand), you may need to spray paint them to get the color you’d like. For this project, I only had a teal pumpkin on hand and I wanted it to be orange. These baby pumpkins would be cute in any color! If you are going to change the color, be sure to cover the pumpkin stem with painters tape first.

Once the stem is covered with painter's tape, spray paint the pumpkin to your desired color. White, peach, or brown would all make cute baby pumpkins, or a combination of light pink and light blue pumpkins! I wanted to create a traditional orange pumpkin to match my gender reveal color scheme.

Let the spray painted pumpkin dry completely. Once dry, draw on the closed baby eyes with a permanent black marker. Next, use a sharp knife to poke a criss-cross incision for a mouth. Use a wine cork screw to open up the criss-cross mark more and dig out a small hole. Your hole should be large enough to fit a pacifier.

Lastly, carefully work the pacifier into the hole you've created. And just like that, you’ve got an adorable DIY baby pumpkin – the perfect party decoration for a fall gender reveal party!
