To start making a surprise ball, it is always easiest if you start with something somewhat round to give you the shape. These Red Apple Stress Toys are perfect! Kids love to squeeze these fun toys, and since these are apple shaped, it goes with the theme of back to school perfectly! Begin by wrapping the Red Jumbo Streamers around the apple, covering it completely.

Once the apple is completely wrapped, cut the streamer and secure with Elmer's CraftBond® Extra Strength Glue Stick. I have made a lot of surprise balls, and this glue works SUPER well to keep everything together! After you have secured it, take one or two of these darling Apple Erasers and put them on the ball and continue wrapping.

Now, while the ball is still somewhat small, place a fun Neon Glitter Pen Bracelet around the ball and wrap until covered. Secure with glue.

I don't know about your kids, but my kids love to tell jokes to their friends at school! That's why I thought that adding a couple Wonka™ Laffy Taffy® candies in this surprise ball would be super fun, not to mention ... it's candy! You can't go wrong with candy. Wrap a couple of these into the ball, keeping it as close to a ball shape as possible while wrapping.

My kids go through so much glue during the school year, so I knew I needed to add a stick of Elmer's® to the ball!

These Plastic Round Stacking Crayons are really fun and cute! Pull one in half and add to the ball, on the opposite side of the glue stick to keep the shape somewhat round and balanced. Wrap and secure with glue.

Give the kids a few of these fun "I Love Reading" Mini Buttons to pin to their backpacks, pencil cases or trade with friends! Wrap and secure with glue ... you've got this down!

If you want to add some cute Red Washi Tape to your apple surprise ball, it makes a super fun addition! My kids love washi tape, so I knew this was a must! If you want to make 12 of the surprise balls, you will need to order 4 sets, as it comes with 3 rolls.

These might be my absolute favorite thing in our surprise ball! These Apple-Scented Bookmarks are darling and smell sweet! You can easily wrap one of these onto the ball.

The last thing you will want to wrap around your surprise ball is a cute Be You Pencil Case. There are several uplifting and cute designs included. Adding a bag to the end of any surprise ball is one of my favorite tips! Then you can put everything else inside once you unwrap it!

Now it's time to put that Apple Green Paper Streamer to use and cut out a couple of leaf shapes (I like to double mine up for a little more stability) and roll a stem.

Then, just glue it to the top of your apple Back to School Surprise Ball and wrap it with a little red around the edge if you want. I did that to keep it on and then added a little extra green on top to cover the red! Using the paper streamers is very forgiving.

Now it's time to give your cute Back to School Surprise Ball apple to the lucky recipient! They can put all of their supplies in a pencil case and be excited to get back to the classroom!
