To start, give each student a colored piece of cardstock and a "David Knew That God Was with Him" printable cut to size. Download the Free Verse Printable here! I printed it on colored paper, but you could also print it on white and have the kids color it. Have the students glue the printable to the top of a piece of colored cardstock. Encourage them to place it close to the top so that they have room for the slingshot.

Next, hand out three Wooden Craft Sticks to each student. Have them place some Elmer's® CraftBond Tacky Glue onto the back of one Wooden Craft Stick and glue it to the bottom center of the colored cardstock.

Then, they will wrap a piece of brown or black Chenille Stem around two Wooden Craft Sticks to look like the pouch on the slingshot. (I wound mine about half an inch down from the top and wrapped it around each stick three times.) You may need to cut off some excess. Then place some Tacky Glue onto the backs of the two Wooden Craft Sticks and have them glue it in a Y shape at the top of the third craft stick.

Before doing the craft in Sunday School, you will want to prepare brown pieces of construction paper by cutting the papers into fourths. Each student will use a fourth of a sheet of Brown Construction paper to cut out five stones. They can draw and then cut, or just do them freehand. Then they will use a glue stick to glue the stones around the bottom of the slingshot.

Be sure to let the pieces dry before you hang them up to display or send them home! You can use the Joshua 1:9 verse on the printable as the memory verse for the week!
