Twist two chenille stems together to make them long enough to wrap around your head.

Braid three long chenille stems (from Step 1) together to make the base of the crown. Twist the ends together to form a circle.

Cut a couple chenille stems into smaller pieces and bend to form two “M’s” and an “O”. Leave a little extra length at the end of each letter to wrap around the base of the crown.

Secure each letter to the base of the crown by wrapping it around the base and twisting it around itself.

Finish by hot gluing on a few pom-poms for added flair! Elmer’s® glue also works if young children are making the craft.
One cool thing we discovered in the process that chenille stems are really easy to braid! Both Stella and Hazel learned how to braid for the first time by taping down the chenille stems and practicing. The girls had fun bending the chenille stems into the different letters… and Hazel couldn’t resist making a crown of her own!

I was just so happy to have a special crown made just for me. Especially one with sparkly pom-poms, my favorite craft supply of all time!
I plan to wear my crown proudly on Mother’s Day!
