
Decide upon a pattern and the number of colors you’re using. I loved the raw look of the wood and knew I wanted to leave the top half natural. Set the glass terrarium aside for safe keeping, especially if you’re like me and have a constant case of the dropsies! Beginning at the bottom, add a bit of hot glue to secure the end of the first color of yarn.

Continue wrapping around the bottom of the wooden base five times, adding a bit of glue here and there as you go.

Once you’ve wrapped around five times, cut the yarn and add another dab of glue. Now start with your next color right at the spot where you left off for a seamless look.

After you’ve finished wrapping the base, it’s time to move onto filling the terrarium itself. I added white rocks, but white sand would look just as pretty.

Add live air plants, or faux succulent picks. Or fill with popcorn for your dessert table, and it could earn double duty as a pretty decorative item, and functional serving piece all in one!
