Since the flowerpots are already painted with chalk paint, there is no need to worry about painting the pots with chalkboard paint. So it is now time to prime the chalkboard pots.
Priming the chalkboard allows you to write on the chalkboard, make a mistake, and erase it without the image permanently ghosting on the chalkboard. Priming also gives the chalkboard paint a more rustic and well-loved chalkboard look. To prime the chalkboard, rub a piece of chalk all over the flowerpot. Wet a piece of paper towel and wipe off all of the chalk. I know this seems counter-productive but once the chalkboard dries, some of the chalk residue will be left behind creating both a barrier between the chalkboard and your drawing and well as a nice chalkboard patina.
Use a chalk marker to write the table numbers onto the larger chalkboard flowerpots and ‘no.’ (short for number) on the mini chalkboard flowerpot.
Place succulents or plants of your choice inside the flowerpots. For a more industrial feel, place the flowerpots on top of a wood slice and nestle in a decorative metal orb.
