For the game you will need one Block Play Set and a black Sharpie® Fine Point Marker. Sort the small, medium and large blocks. Use the marker to write the 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament onto the medium-sized blocks. I color coordinated the books by categories. (Old Testament: Law, History, Wisdom, Major Prophets and Minor Prophets; New Testament: Gospels, History, Paul's Letters, General Letters, and Prophecy).

Write "Old Testament" and "New Testament" on the large sized block with a permanent marker. These will be used for the base of each tower of books.

Attach the printable to a Medium Locking Storage Bin with Lid. The game instructions are also on the label. Download the Free Books of the Bible Blocks Game Printable here!

To play the game, have students race to put the books of the Bible in order for the Old and New Testament or play it as a relay race by placing the bins on one side of the room and have students run down, grab a piece, run back and continue until they have all of the pieces together. Or just time each group to see who can put the books in order first. For more ideas to teach the Books of the Bible, see my Sunday School Lesson Plan HERE.
