Let's begin by painting the beads. Here's a tip: to easily paint the wood beads, use a tiny drop of hot glue to lightly secure each of the Round Unfinished Wood Beads to a bamboo skewer. This makes it easy to paint all sides of the beads.
Paint the beads with a flat-bristled paintbrush and acrylic paint. Stand them up in a tall vase or cup to dry.
Use a Sponge Paintbrush or a flat-bristled paintbrush and acrylic paint to dry brush paint a DIY Wood Slat Sign. To achieve the dry brush look, lightly dip your paintbrush into the paint and lightly swipe the paintbrush over the wood surface without adding more paint to the brush. Repeat this process until there is no more paint on the brush. Having the wood show through the paint is the look you want to achieve.
Download, print and cut out the bunny shape. Match the two shapes together to form a bunny. Use washi tape to hold the two shapes in place.
Arrange the words and bunny shape onto a DIY Slat Sign to your liking. Lightly trace the bunny shape with a pencil.
Once dry, remove the painted wood beads from the skewers. Using the traced bunny as a guide, adhere the beads to the wood sign with hot glue.
To do the printed image transfer technique, apply a thin layer of Matte Mod Podge over the areas you will be applying the images. Don't forget to download the free printable bunny sign template here. While the Mod Podge® is still wet, place the printables print side down onto the sign, and rub the image into the wood using a Wood Craft Stick. Allow the printed images to dry for 24 hours. Use a spray bottle of water to dampen the paper.
With a gentle finger, rub the paper off, working from the outside edge inward. Once all the paper is off, apply a thin layer of Matte Mod Podge to protect the image.
Once the Mod Podge is dry, glue a Pink Yarn Pom-Pom to the sign. Your cute DIY bunny sign is ready to enjoy as part of your Easter decorations or to give as a gift!
