Lay out all four canvas squares. Using a pencil, sketch out the tree design using the napkin as a reference. It doesn’t have to be perfect…this is whimsical, not art school. It’s just supposed to be fun!

Next trace your tree with a brown Sharpie.

Fill in the tree with the brown sharpie and get out your paint markers!

Time for some real fun! I love the paint markers for this kind of project. You get the painted look with the ease of a marker, it seriously can’t get any easier! First just draw some scalloped grass and fill it in along the bottom.

Next we’ll add the critters! First up the owl. The owl is just basic shapes. Mostly circles, a couple hearts and triangles. Feel free to add both owls if you want. I just went with one.

The hedgehog had to happen because I love him, and I did hedgehogs on the free printables I made for the baby shower. Again, not too complicated to draw out and make cute. Just whimsical kid-like drawings.

Put out with some colorful Sharpies and instructions on what to do. The instructions I left were for everyone to add a flower or leaf, but let guests know if they are feeling more artistic to add something else, and then just add their signature near what they added.
