Yarn Dolls

These sweet little dolls can provide hours of entertainment and are small enough to fit in your pocket. Start by wrapping yarn around your hand or a piece of cardboard; the longer the cardboard the bigger the dolls; wrap until you reach 40. Slide the wrapped yarn off of the cardboard.Tie a piece of yarn around the top to make the dolls head. If you are making a girl doll, you can tie an additional piece of yarn in a different color at the top of the head to make a bun. Divide the rest of the yarn into four. Tie the arms at the wrist and again at the waist. The boy dolls you can divide into legs and tie at the ankles.

God's Eye

Hot glue two craft sticks together to make an "X." Tie a piece of yarn, in a knot around the center of the craft sticks. Wrap the yarn around the center following an "x" pattern to secure the yarn and start creating the eye. Start by wrapping the yarn around one craft stick, over and under, once you bring the yarn over the top of the stick, rotate the stick and continue to wrap the yarn around and under the next craft stick.

Continue to rotate the sticks each time you wrap, moving from one craft stick to the next. To change colors, tie the ends of the color you're using to the new color. Continue to wrap using the new color.

You can choose to paint the rim of the flower pots before you begin. Squeeze the Elmer's glue onto the flower pot and use a foam paint brush to smooth it out around the pot. Wrap the yarn around the flower pot, creating layers as you go to fill in any holes. You can use multiple colors or keep it simple and just use one. Wrap the yarn until the flower pot is covered, reapplying glue where needed.Hot glue the end of the yarn in place when you are finished wrapping. The girls added some pink yarn around the center and glued on some cute heart craft buttons for a decorative touch! Plant your favorite flower and watch it grow.

Paint the 4x4 canvases with blue water color paint and allow drying. Cut 2-3 small pieces of yarn in red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Start at the bottom of your rainbow and use Elmer's glue to make a small "n" in the center of the canvas. Place the red yarn over the glue. Add another layer of glue on the outside of the red yarn and place another red piece of yarn over it. Gently press the yarn together. Trim off any excess yarn.Repeat these steps with each color of the rainbow. Ella and Annie loved the texture the yarn added to their painting! Crumple small pieces of white tissue paper and glue onto the canvas for clouds.

Yarn Homework Station Containers

Create these adorable primary colored yarn homework station containers to keep your kiddos organized! Using a foam paint brush, spread Elmer's Glue over the plastic jars. We decided to make a rainbow pattern on our jars so the girls added the glue in sections. Starting at the top of the jar, wrap the yarn around the jar, layering as you go to fill in any holes. Repeat with each color, adding more glue when needed.

Decorate the jars with colorful craft buttons or ribbon! Fill each jar with your favorite craft supplies. The plastic jars are kid-friendly and won't break if dropped!
