Winter ONEderland First Birthday Party

Winter ONEderland First Birthday Party

A Winter ONEderland Party is a wonderful way to celebrate baby’s first year! This adorable party is all decked out in red and black buffalo plaid, along with lots of natural elements, to create a stunning winter party. The natural, rustic touches, like the flocked Christmas tree, mini snow-topped winter trees, DIY wood arrows directional sign, lanterns, pinecones, and more all bring this sweet party together perfectly!

Winter ONEderland Party Backdrop

I wanted the party background to look natural and rustic, even though it was an indoor party, so I hung some wood paper onto the wall that looked like old weathered wood, complete with the nails and wood grain.

A flocked snow-covered tree was the perfect addition to the party and looked beautiful at the side of the table.

An adorable wood direction sign was easy to make with some plain wood arrows that I stained.

I cut out some vinyl words to add to the arrows with my Cricut machine that said “Winter ONEderland,” “Mountain Lodge,” “Ice Caves,” “Cross Country Skiing,” and “Hot Cocoa Bar.” Next, I used some glue dots to attach each arrow to a weathered piece of wood, then stuck the wood into a galvanized pail filled with dirt.

This held the sign up really well and I just LOVE the way my DIY sign turned out!

Rustic Winter Party Table

At the center of our party table was a chalkboard easel.

I used my Cricut machine to cut out the number one and the word “one,” then stuck the vinyl onto the chalkboard for an easy temporary sign that can still be reused again and again!

The natural pinecone garland placed on top of the chalkboard framed it perfectly and added to the rustic feel of the first birthday party.

Of course we used a red and black buffalo plaid tablecloth that matched all the other accessories!

The large stump treat stand held our chocolate cake beautifully and added some height to it.

Adorable mini snow-topped bottle brush trees were layered around the base of the cake to give the feel of being in the cool snowy mountains in the wintertime.

Aren’t they just adorable?!

Larger snowy tabletop trees were scattered around the tree stump, along with black lanterns with white candles inside, buffalo plaid trees, and matching black trees.

It looked like a fine layer of freshly fallen snow on the tables, thanks to the addition of a little fake snow scattered over the top. I love how the snow matches the snowy bottlebrush trees, tabletop trees, and the large flocked tree, and tied them all together.

Of course we needed treats at our winter 1st birthday party! I filled red and black buffalo plaid baking cups with assorted nuts and cherry flavored gummy bears.

Two wood slices on either side of the table were filled with assorted donuts and pretty black and white marble cake slices.

Cozy Hot Cocoa Station

Directly in front of our main party table was a shorter table that was transformed into our hot cocoa and party favor station.

I used the same buffalo plaid tablecloth roll to match the larger table, then added more freshly fallen (fake) snow over the top.

Tall buffalo plaid cups with lids were all lined up on our large matching tray, ready for guests to fill up with hot cocoa from our galvanized drink dispenser.

Next to the cups on the long tray were round stacked buffalo plaid treat boxes that were filled with more cherry gummy bears for guests to take home with them.

Each child was given a buffalo plaid gift bag that held their very own stuffed bear for them to love.

Winter ONEderland Place Settings

Our dining table was simple and sweet. A black tablecloth covered the table, and I folded over more buffalo plaid table covering to make a runner that matched the other tables.

Down the center of the table I added three larger tabletop trees, then a handful of smaller trees on each side.

This winter centerpiece was so easy to put together- anyone can do it!

Each table setting consisted of a square buffalo plaid plate, a round black plate, and a buffalo plaid napkin with a snowy tree placed over the top.

If you have a baby turning one this winter, then definitely use these ideas to throw your own Winter ONEderland birthday party!
